The Future

The Commoners Council was one of the bodies along with the National Park Authority and what is now Natural England, to agree a 'vision' for Dartmoor's moorland. Published in 2005 as a map; the vision is one of an open but farmed landscape containing a mosaic of different types of vegetation and habitats, with fourteen areas (known as Premier Archaeological Landscapes) where the archaeology is recognised to be the highest priority.  The vision was agreed by commoners and public agencies.
